In this segment of our A Day in the Life series, where we recognize some of Jitjatjo’s incredible Change Agents, we meet Katie, Fulfillment Operations Manager. Katie gives us a glimpse into her typical day connecting workers with businesses.

Name:  Katie Peterson

Title:  Fulfillment Operations Manager

“I believe in the vision of creating opportunities for people to make a living; and building our tech to open those doors.”

What do you do at Jitjatjo and how long have you been with the company?

I’ve been with the company for 3+ years, and I make sure our gigs are filled by connecting our clients with the best, available workers to do the job!

What is your typical day like?

I start my day by looking at our performance numbers. Our Ai-technology works to fill open shifts first and my team further supports by tackling any openings that need a human touch to fill properly. I look to see how many shifts we have on the books, and which clients or locations still need to be filled. From there, I assess and work more hands-on with those bookings to individually choose the best talent for the job. When I’m not actively working on unfilled gigs, I am working with the Operations teams to develop ideas around improved workflows for our internal teams and our technology.

How would you describe Jitjatjo in 3 words?

Jitjatjo is Innovative, Approachable, and Integrated

Why did you choose Jitjatjo?

Jitjatjo’s mission is human betterment. I believe in the vision of creating opportunities for people to make a living; and building our tech to open those doors.

What do you love most about working at Jitjatjo?

I like having the ability to collaborate on a team with the ability to work on a variety of different things. I can work on high-level ideas and projects one morning and that same day, work with the talent we are directly impacting and are working on our platform. This helps to remind me of what we are working towards, while grounding the work in the real world.

What do you think makes a great team?

Trusting that your colleagues are all working towards a unified vision creates strong teams.

What is the best career lesson you’ve learned so far?

Stay flexible. In the tech world, we all need to be nimble enough to pivot our focus and skills when the industry or teams calls for it.

What has been your proudest moment at Jitjatjo?

I’m proud that I have had the opportunities to work alongside a number of different teams and watch as the initiatives I’ve supported have taken on a life of their own.

What do you hope to achieve in the coming months, year(s)?

I'd like to see Jitjatjo grow into new markets, and keep innovating to support our new Network partner.
