In this segment of our A Day in the Life series, where we recognize some of Jitjatjo’s change agents, we meet Compliance Specialist, Ramon. Ramon takes us behind the scenes of his typical day and shares what he loves most about working at Jitjatjo.
Name: Ramon Guity
Title: Compliance Specialist
What do you do at Jitjatjo and how long have you been with the company?
I work on the Compliance team, ensuring that the talent workforce is within Compliance perimeters requested by our clients and/or otherwise within the state’s requirements. I’ve been with Jitjatjo for 4 years, 3 of those as a talent and now as of April, a change agent.
What is your typical day like?
My day begins with a review of intercom messages and accreditations from our slack channels. My team works hard to ensure that we have fully compliant talent, capable of completing jobs. We generate ideas to improve our area of responsibility. With my talent experience, I've been able to put my skills to work and make suggestions to improve our team's efforts and the collaborative process.
How would you describe Jitjatjo in 3 words?
I’d describe Jitjatjo to be efficient, innovative, and collaborative.
Why did you choose Jitjatjo?
I chose to work at Jitjatjo because I believe it is at the forefront of the flexible labor market. I also desired the opportunity to learn and grow as a change agent. I realized my prior experience as a talent provided me with additional insight, perspective, and value that could contribute to the company's growth. Because I believe in the values of collaboration and compassion, I felt empowered to join the team and grow together from within.
What do you love most about working at Jitjatjo?
I most enjoy connecting with my colleagues and learning their stories outside the company. Everyone has been very pleasant and fun.
What do you think makes a great team?
A strong team is built on compassion and respect. Every team will face a variety of problems that will necessitate a unique set of abilities and knowledge. I've always considered those particular qualities as "checks and balances" for understanding people so that duties may be done efficiently.
What is your greatest achievement to date – personal or professional?
Some of my greatest achievements to date were the release of my band’s album and my recent engagement to once childhood friend and now fiance- Te amo mi querida ;)
What is the best career lesson you’ve learned so far?
Learning to take feedback and grasp the difference between departing from a method and achieving success on your own road is one of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned in my career.
What has been your proudest moment at Jitjatjo?
I’m still fairly new as a change agent but my proudest moment so far has been producing a SOP doc for one of our Accreditations. The knowledge will be beneficial to my team as well as any change agent interested in learning more about the COVID accreditation process.
What do you hope to achieve in the coming months, year(s)?
I aim to gain a deeper understanding of the software that our team uses so that I may assist in the creation of additional support files for our operations.
