What interested you about working with Jitjatjo?
I’ve been traveling the nation for 6 straight months using gig-working apps for income. When I was flying into Illinois to visit my family, I needed to find a way to keep my income coming in and Jitjatjo helped me get started fast.
What’s your favorite gig you have worked so far and why? Tell us about it.
DePaul University. From the chefs to the faculty, to the students. The atmosphere is quite the vibe in itself. I love gigs where I get to have a lot of interaction with the public.
What does a typical day look like for you?
A typical work day for me ranges from a morning prep cook role to a brunch or wedding server. This will last until 2-3 in the afternoon and I try to pick up another gig in the evening. It’s been such a wide variety of roles but primarily it’s dishwashing or event serving. I’ve been quite literally everything in the hospitality industry now a days I can fill any roll necessary but I aspire to a corporate role with one of the gig working apps since I have an MS in Org Leadership that I need to utilize.
What's the best part about making your own schedule?
Mobility, flexibility, and freedom.
What’s the one piece of advice you’d give a new Jitjatjo teammate?
Confidence, preparation, and commitment will get you through most circumstances. Never be afraid to ask for help.
What is your proudest accomplishment?
Finishing grad school.
With a flexible schedule, how do you like to spend your time when you're not working?
If I’m not working, I’m traveling & exploring the area I’m in.
If you had a superpower, what would it be?
Teleportation, I spend so much time commuting.
