What interested you about working with Jitjatjo?

I love the idea of being able to work at so many different places - to have that sort of freedom is very exciting. I've learned so much in such a short period of time. I'm grateful for this opportunity.

What’s your favorite gig you have worked so far and why? Tell us about it.

The Tin Building by Jean-Georges is my favorite gig so far. I was only supposed to be there for an 8-week program, but it ended up extending to 6 months. Within those 6 months, I worked under some amazing chefs and made some really great friends. Anyone who happens to be in that area should definitely visit the Tin-Building. Salads & Sandwiches is my favorite spot there.

What's the best part about making your own schedule?

Being able to make my own schedule makes my life so much easier. I'm able to tackle my new passion for acting while also keeping my knife skills on point.

What’s a typical work day look like for you?

Typically, I start my work day at the gym, at around 5 am. After a nice hour session, I'm ready to tackle the day head on. I mostly pick up shifts between 7:00am - 6:00pm. Work never really ends, because I'm in charge of dinner. Hahaha!

What scared you the most when you took your first gig?

During my first gig, I was so worried that my personal knife wasn't sharp enough. Chefs will let you know when your knife is dull. I could imagine the Chef going full Gordon Ramsay on me. Looking back now, all I can do is laugh.

What’s the one piece of advice you’d give a new Jitjatjo teammate?

Don't be afraid to explore new things. There's so much to learn out there; you just have to be willing to listen.

What is your proudest accomplishment?

One day, I finally woke up and decided to really double down on doing things that make me happy. I don't have to sacrifice anything because now, I have the time and flexibility with Jitjatjo. So, my proudest accomplishment is realizing how hard I'm working to chase this dream of mine. It's an ongoing process and there's no stopping me!

With a flexible schedule, how do you like to spend your time when you're not working?

I have a ton of things to do when I'm not working - I'm a big bookworm and also like to spend my time at the gym. Sometimes, I'm at home trying out new recipes or practicing guitar with my cats sitting with me.
